Have you ever felt the strong pull to host something — maybe a retreat, a gathering, or a women's conference — only to immediately second-guess yourself because you didn't have the funds?
You start with excitement, vision bursting in your spirit, and then the questions flood in: "How will I afford this?" "Who will attend if they know I'm just starting?" "What resources will I even come by?"
For many women, this is where the vision stalls — not because of lack, but because of perspective.
The Lie of Lack: The enemy loves to use lack to paralyze obedience. "You don't have the money." "You don't have enough resources." "You don't have the right network." So why even try?
But in the Kingdom of God, we don't fund from what we see — we move by faith and kingdom principles. We build based on what's been promised. The question is not "Do I have enough?" — the real question is "God, what do you want to do through me?"
Biblical Proof That God Multiplies the Little: Throughout Scripture, God doesn't wait for surplus. He starts with what's already in our hands. He fed 5,000 from a boy's lunch. He asked the widow for her last oil. He told Moses to use the rod in his hand. He starts with willingness and faith — and watches God multiply.
Provision Follows Obedience: We often want to see the whole cost before we say yes. But God's way is to open the next door only after you take the first step. He doesn't show the whole staircase — He shows the next step. So here's the practical question: If God gave you the vision with your passion, and partnership, yet the money hasn't come — don't stop here.
Here's How to Host an Event with No Money: Start like a Vision and Make It Plain. Setting a date is an act of agreement with Heaven. If yes, I believe God will provide. Write the vision and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2), and watch the resources follow.
Step One: Turn Your Vision Into a Written Plan. God doesn't just call the qualified, He qualifies the called. When Nehemiah felt led to rebuild the wall, he first spent time in prayer and then presented a clear plan, including what he needed. Because of that, the King of Persia provided everything he needed — lumber, protection, authority — because he came with a written plan.
And notice: It wasn't about the resume — it's about clear direction. Have a clear theme. Define your audience. Decide a date and venue. Write down your program. Create a simple budget — even if it starts at $0. Be specific about what you need.
Step Two: Start Small and Move Forward. Start in a living room. Start with a park. Start with 5 women. Don't wait for the grand vision to start — start in obedience. God doesn't wait to multiply until you're "ready." He already made a way. You just haven't seen it yet — because it's waiting on your step.
Step Three: Move in Faith and Watch God Provide. The UpHer Room didn't just happen — it was created out of a burden, a vision, and a dream for women everywhere. Here's the story of how it all began. This isn't about events. It's about trust. It's an invitation to partner with God and watch Him breathe on what you've been afraid to start.
